One of the oldest aromatics, cedarwood was valued highly in ancient times. With a rich, woody, slightly masculine scent, the fragrance relaxes and harmonizes, while building inner confidence and self-acceptance. Particularly in times of stress, the scent helps enhance the capacity to give generously to another.

Cedarwood is used whenever calm and composure are required. It is said to aid in relieving nervous tension, anxiety, insomnia, fighting depression and aggression.

The ancient Syrians and Mesopotamians considered the tree a sign of enduring love, and nourished the spirits of their ancestors with cedarwood incense. For surviving the Flood, it is said Noah burnt cedarwood oil in gratitude to the Lord. Atlas cedarwood was used in ancient Egypt for fumigation and embalming. Wood is used for storage chests as it repelled insects. Used for incense.
