Carnelian is a stabilizing stone with high energy. It is believed to promote vitality and motivation. In ancient Egyptian days, Carnelian was worn on the hand to still jealousy, envy, anger, and hatred. It is used still today to promote peace and harmony while dispelling depression. In Renaissance magic, the carnelian was engraved with a sword or an image of a warrior. Then, as a magical amulet was placed in the home to guard against lightning and storms, or also carried as a protective amulet against enchantments.
Carnelian is also believed to strengthen astral vision and is worn to bed to halt nightmares.
